I'm hoping to get that time without mods. It would be a nice baseline. Good run.

You've got a good 60' time.

I am a believer that the 2K2 auto Max are capable of mid to low 14's depending on the 60'. The lowest 60' posted is 2.18.

Does everyone agree?

I ran a 2.174 60' with my completely stock 2K2 auto. Had lots of wheel hop. I am sure I could have done better with the hop eliminated. Now I have exhaust and pulley and I feel a 2.0 might be possible with traction.

sorry for the late reply.

I'm running stock tires at 23psi at the track. I don't have any wheel hop, but I do spin off the line. I didn't know how much I really spinned until I reviewed the video.

I think if I was a split second faster at shifting out of 1st I could pulled a better time, because I bounced off the limiter. But who knows now. For me, it seems the 1-2nd shift is the most important. My times varied by .19 by leaving the shifter in 2nd, as apposed to 1st.

Timeslip please.... j/k. I believe you, no need to lie here, we're all adults.

That's sweet! Do you recall launching any differently to get this time? did you ease into the gas at launch. do a quick burn-out to clean the tires?

Sweet 60' time. I'm fortunate I don't have wheel hop.

BTW - when you installed the pulley did you feel a noticable difference. I've read that the pulley will release somewhere around 5 hp and most notice the car pulls quicker to redline? If so, this mod should improve 1/4 time by XX?

No burn outs no special lauch jsut the weather helped the most. I didn't stall it but to 1500 and then just feathered it until I knew I had full traction. I launch a lot harder at rockingham and had a best of 2.19 but that was is horrible weather. I hope I can hook up the same as I normally do this friday and I know for a fact 2.09's are possible because I can stall it all the way to 2300 and just hook and go there. I was surprised at my 60' times b/c I didn't feel I was doin better than a 2.20 but I guess the cold helps more than you would think. I will post my new best 1/4 times this friday. I plan to break a few auto records

I have a UDP and I feel no difference at all. I think SR20DEN showed a 2whp gain from his dynos which are know to be the only corrected ones to my knowledge.

2k2max,

Thanks!

The car seems to pull very good now with the addition of the ASP underdrive pulley but the weather has been cooler since then too. Throttle response seems to be better as well and I am sure that will convert into hp. I have used underdrive pulleys on other cars like my 88 Mustang and gained .15-.20 et. On my 98 Camaro which doesn't have a smog pump like the Mustang I only gain about .10+ et. On the Maxima's we don't pull a water pump so the gains will probably not be near as much as on a Mustang pulling a smog and water pump.

In addition to a small hp gain, I like the fact that with the UD pulley the alternator and ac compressor speed is reduced by 20%. At 6300 engine rpm this alternator is really working hard. That's got to take a toll on it over a period of time. And with the ac compressor turning slower it's got to last longer too. Particularly on the highway at 75 mph, 2500-3000 rpm range, you sure don't need to be turning either that fast.

I don't get into a lot of traffic jams so I have never had a problem with UD pulleys. On occasion when I do in hot weather with the ac on, I put the tranny in neutral and give the engine a little throttle periodically to insure the battery stays charged.

They I will most likely save my money for a Y-Pipe.

Because of our "mad" skills with an auto, what do you foresee us running with the Y-pipe. I/Y/E should get us in the low 14's. What would it take to see high 13's? No turbo, no juice.

you will need small 15" slicks like me to achieve 13's

Or you could just buy a Camaro or Trans Am and run low 13s right off the show room floor! LOL!

I have never reported any gains at all out of the UDP or the RT cat.

Yeah, but I like the sleeper approach. Nothing wrong with the fast cars you've listed, but the look on someone's face when you burn them with a 13 second, 4-door, grocery getting, 6-cylinder, rice burning , 24-26mpg car is priceless.

I love my Max.

I ran a 2.15 60' on the Blowtenza's at 25psi. My best was a 14.49 (twice) with an intake.
