Problem: Auto Headlights Stay On

If I put the key to the foward position just short of actually starting the car (Auxillary Position I assume it's called) the auto headlights come on. Normal. When I take the key out and close the doors and then lock the doors with the keyless entry remote the headlights still stay on. Not Normal. Has anyone had this problem where their auto headlights don't go out after they had the key in the auxillary position?

I believe that is the safety light up time. It stays lit for 1min or whatever the dealer set for you to get in your house.

a member supposedly listed way back that the ECU has like three settings for the headlight. As you have seen, one is off... one is on with a delay.. but I dunno what the third one is.

take it to the dealer and have it checked out

I think I recall from the owner's manual that normal auto delay is 45 seconds (turn off car, get out and lock). If the keys stay in the car (or apparently if you turn the car back on to accessory, then back off), it's five minutes. HOWEVER, I've noticed when washing the car (at night - what can I tell you, I have limited free time...) when leaving the key in the accessory position the lights don't go out at all.
