JW Pop Charger

5 months ago..i got my maxima a Jim Wolf Pop-charger from courtesy nissan...having almost no knowledge about cars and no fear...i carefully installed it myself..
and here it goes...so many mechanical problems started to occur
1. engine shaked like crazy..not all the time..but very often
2. check engine sign came on( i disregarded it becuz this guy from a body shop told me the sensor is reacting to increased air to the engine.)
3. too much of a shaking..so i put my stock air-filter back in
4. car keeps shaking afterword..i take it to a dealer and they said it was probably engine mount...but later found out that it was spark plugs that went out...
5. replaced sparkplugs..and my car is finally ok..

anyone with JW pop charger plz tell me what went wrong with my car?
cuz i wanna make use of my pop charger that cost me almost 120 dollars...plz....thanks

1. the engine should not be shaking, sounds like an idling problem. when did the shaking occur? under acceleration or idling?
2. the check engine light should not come on, the ecu does take time to adjust to more air coming but it should not throw a ses light unless something went wrong with the install.
3. thats what i would have done.
4. odd but im sure its possible
5. at least the shaking is gone.

now did you have the code pulled to see what the error code is? what year and how many miles are on the max when the check engine light went off?

well, my take on it is that the plugs had 50k on them. the platnium plugs are supposed to be good for 100k but theres no way i would leave them in there that long. im taking mine out at 30k to check them and then replace them no matter what at 50k or so. a plug or more could have easily fouled in 50k but putting on a pop charger might have just occured around the same time. i doubt if the filter caused the plug to foul, at least ive never heard of that one. i would put it back on but make sure you remove the negative terminal of the battery so you are less likely to throw a check engine light.

im not sure what the slight modification might be. it might be referring to removing the stock airbox or it could be the relocation of the air temp sensor. check this out and see it is similar to the instructions you received.
