Advanced timing and battery

Will disconnecting the battery for a prolonged period of time effect the new timing parameters? Or is it there pretty much forever?

I don't know if anyone has tested it yet.

It seems like an eeprom change in which case it would survive a long term battery disconnect.

If it's not an eeprom then all bets are off but most people feel its an eeprom write.

Don't worry about a few hours. The ECM has a battery backup that lasts at least 24 hours (for 2K2 and later).
