JIC or Tien
JIC or Tien
I wanted to know if someone can help me out. How do i know my factory shocks are killed? I already have H&R springs. Also, which kit it better for my 02 SE, JIC or Tien? I dont do too much racing, but i do want my car to feel comfortable on the road. Thanks for the help...

IF they are blown, it will be an uncontrolled bounce...In other words you will feel like you got hyrdo's with no controlls. Mine is droped 2.5 inches with the cattman gen 2's...400lb springs...Not bouncy..rides very good.
Simply comparing JIC to Tein isn't a fair comparison. They each make coilovers for our 5th gens, but different prices and models.
The coilover setup Tein makes for our 5th gens, is the SS kit which retails for around $1250. It's not their top-of-the-line setup, but the only one they offer for us.
JIC, on the other hand, makes the FLT-A2 kit for our 5th gens, which retails for around $1650. It's their better setup so I would assume it will be better, but also much more expensive.

ON the spring specs you will see somthing that looks like 400lb or 600lb...THis is the weight per inch it takes to compress it...Less means it moves more free..More means stiffer...This of course is not the only thing to look at...It's gotta be matched with the shock with the rebound and compression. What does this all mean...Well hopfully the built them right and they work good on normal roads and great for sport. This you just gotta kinda hope for without acually being in the car to check each one. Just some things to look at.
