HELP in the middle of a project, need some electrical advice...

Hey guys, im wiring my handsfree kit for my cell and i have 3 ?'s

1. Drilling through the firewall to get to my battery is something i want to avoid, can i just tap into my amp cable (10guage) and run it outta there?

2. Do our stock 2000 non bose radios support the feature that will mute out radio when call comes in? if so where to i tap in?

3. i must connect to a point in the vehicle fuse box that is switched on and off with the vehicle ignition, BUT DOES NOT GET PULLED TO GROUND DURING VEHICLE CRANKING. Where can I find something like this easiest

thnkz so much

question (1) i can do: NO. the whole point of that amp cable is to isolate it from other systems, so your amp gets enough noise-free power to run well. don't steal it. firewall drilling isn't that bad, if you're gonna go to the work of this install, do that extra step, too. there's actually a nice little spot made for drilling firewall holes up under the driver's dash (at least in my 2k).

question (2), i don't think so. the clarion system wasn't designed to have an in-car phone, i don't think it has that feature. i saw someone put in a relay that cut out all but the back right speaker when a call came in - that was his mute equivalent. (you don't want to cut them all, not good for the amp) or you can get an electronic attenuator (muter) and wire in into the speaker leads. either way, it's gonna be a bit more work than you were hoping

number (3) i'm not sure about. the wiring diagrams are posted in the faq, tho, maybe that will help.

good luck!
