Re: dumb *** max owner,

I'm guessing with some modifications, he should be just fine. If he bolts on the s/c and leaves it at that, he could have some issues. I have a hard time believing that anyone would drop the $ for a s/c and not know enough about the Nissan tranny to upgrade it.

I'd say 2 years, 10k miles, but my tranny is completely custom. Even still, the factory tranny can be over come with little money put in, relitive to replacing it, or the s/c cost.

Auto with supercharger not being able to hold up? Just take a look at Y2KevSE.

it all depends...if your friend drives really aggressively all the time, then the tranny will fail alot sooner...

if your friend drivers like a granny like Kevin-G..then it'll last..

Yeah, but the conversion wasn't done because the auto tranny was going bad.

Re: dumb *** max owner,

it requires at least a valvebody recalibration and tranny cooler to beef up the tranny a bit. Rebuild the tranny with stronger internals or do a 5spd swap will be the best way to go. If he decided to keep stock tranny, tell him not to modify his exhaust and keep the stock pulley.

If he is your friend, you should bring these suggestions to him or tell him about maxima.org.
