New to the game

Bought my first Max yesterday - a 2001 SE Limited. Bought it used and would love a resource on where I can find specs on my particular model. Have a pearl white SE Limited. Want to find out everything I can about it - engine type, mileage, options on SE Limited, etc. Thanks for any help

I assume you mean a 2001 SE Anniversary Edition? There was no Limited version in 2001. If you are a new AE owners...congrats and welcome to the small crowd. You can find most of the details you are working for on carpoint or edmunds. 5-speed or automatic? There are a few options that were available on the AE that weren't on other SE's, but mostly they are the same from a performance perspective. Aestetically, there are some nice touches on our AE's.

Anyway...ask more detailed questions and you'll tend to get more detailed answers...feel free to visit my homepage for details on some of the things I've done with my AE.

It is not an AE - I was looking for an AE, but couldn't find one. It has a plaque on the driver and passenger doors which clearly says SE Limited. I have never seen one before - got a fantastic deal on ity. 2001, 5spd, loaded with everything with only 2799 miles! Couldn't believe it.

Specifically looking for a spec sheet on the 2001 SE (Limited).

i'm thinking that the dealership tacked Limited onto the doors. pics?

the only 'limited' model in 2001 was the 20th Anniversary Edition.

in any case, welcome to the .org

yea....its limited alright....limited only to that dealer

No, but in all seriousness. The only "limited" edition was in 99. 2k1 had the SE-anniversary.

What does your muffler look like? 2 tips pointing out? or 2 tips that look limp? Atleast you've got a fully loaded car. The dealer was just playing games.

Yeah, dude, as everyone else said, there's no such thing. Those stickers are off a '99.

Those miles scare me too. Did you run a CarFax? I hope it wasn't "garaged" at the bottom of a lake.

Well, you're not going to find a spec sheet on the 2001 SE (Limited) since it doesn't exist...what did you pay for this thing?

There is only a single exhaust pipe - really rectangular. I don't think the dealer was playing games because he only had the car for one day - maybe the original dealer played a game - I got it used.

I may be stupid, but I'm no idiot. I did run a Carfax on it and it came up clean. It is an unbelievable deal though. It's fully loaded, 5spd w/leather and 17 in. tires with the six spoke alloys. It even has a different exhaust - a single rectangular pipe as opposed to two round pipes. It only had 2788 miles on it! Turns out the original owner died and his wife didn't know how to drive a stick. She let it sit her garage for almost a year before she traded it in on a new auto Max. Only paid $18,800. It's basically a new car. I even asked the dealer why (after we consumated the deal) they were letting it go so cheap and they claim sales are so slow they have to do something to move inventory. One day I'm going to have to take some pictures and post it - it is really unique, haven't seen one like it. So far so good - keeping my fingers crossed.

I have the single rectangular piece too. All SEs have it. If you look really close, though, it is actually two pipes with a rectangular flange around it.

That is a great deal considering the mileage!! Congrats! I'VE GOTTA see the pictures of the limited edition badges though..... That's really weird.

So, sounds like a stock Maxima SE with some aftermarket "Limited" stickers. It isn't sounding all too unique, but I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.

As far as the price...Do you have heated front seats? I'm trying to figure out if you have the Meridian package for pricing consideration.

Either way, assuming the title is clean, you certainly have a practically new 2001 SE 5-speed and that's a great car to have.

i don't think there was a "meridian" package in 2k - i'd have to check my spec book at home to be sure, tho. (i still have the glossy flier and options list and stuff from my 2k)

my 2k SE has that oval/rectangle wrap around the twin pipe, too. i really like it, one of the reasons i likely will keep the stock exhaust.

not sure what the deal is with the limited, altho i know a lot of companies and dealers tag stuff extra at the end of the model year, to help sell it. they might have thrown in extra dealer add-ons (disc changer, cold weather package, etc) to go with it.

sounds like you got a great deal! enjoy! i still owe more than that on my 2k...
