Hey, wasn't this thread about the Aqua-cooled Supercharger?
I think this thread has been JACKED.

By the way, the stuff is set to debut around Feb/March. However, Steve hasn't replied to my recent inquiry on the status of these systems. The moment i do, i'll let you guys know.

Doesn't that simply mean that the supercharger is cooled by water? I'm hardly an expert on FI, but I know the 911TT was switched from an intercooler to an aqua-cooled turbo, which just means that the cooling system is changed (uses water instead of air I guess).

As for the HLSD option for the 6spd guys, i guess it's possible though i haven't heard of someone actually doing it. One thing's for sure, it won't fit the auto tranny.

This car just got out in 2k2, I guess patience helps, especially waiting for a supercharger =)
Here's the Update I got yesterday
3.5L (V6) Nissan `02-`03 Altima/Maxima/`03 350Z/Infiniti G35/I35 Aqua-cooled Supercharger Kit
"We plan to start development of the 3.5L Aqua-cooled supercharger on a 350Z (has the lowest hood clearance) sometime near the end of February now. This kit will probably be using the Eaton MP90 (new 5th gen.) roots type blower, with the self contained aqua-cooler system, with the heat exchanger built in to the intake plenum (like our 2.7L Hyundai application). Running about only 5-lbs/psi of boost, we should be able to produce close to 60-hp gain at the wheels, hopefully without any ECU management (but can if needed)! As with the above application, we will develop a stage one, and possible stage two "official" upgrades once the kit has been CARB certified as well. If all goes as planned on this application, look for it's availability around the tail end of June, or early July `03."

UPDATE
Got an email from Steve Belanger. Here's an excerpt:
"`02-`03 Altima / Sentra (SER & V-Spec) (2.5L-I4) Turbo w/Aqua-cooler Kit
(anticipate CARB certification)
While we are still going to develop an aqua-cooled turbo kit for this engine platform, we are in the final stages of negotiations with a company to manufacture this kit "private label" for them, and will not be able to offer this kit to the aftermarket ourselves. Unfortunately, we can not divulge any more information on this application until it is near completion, and have permission from our client to reveal who they are and details of this kit.
`02-`03 Altima / Maxima / `03 350Z / Infiniti G35 /I35 (3.5L-V6) Aqua-cooled Supercharger Kit
(anticipate CARB certification)
Like the above application, this kit will be developed for the same company to sell "private label", and we will not be offering this application to the aftermarket ourselves. As with the above kit, we can not divulge any more information on this application until near completion, and have permission from our client to reveal who they are and the details of this kit."
*sigh* Looks like another delay...

1) The project is still alive
2) Inclusion of middle man means we are going to have to pay more for it.
Questions:
1) Who is the middle man, Nismo, Stillen, etc.?
2) How much will they add to the price?
3) Why the secrecy?
4) Again, how long until someone actually gets it into their hands? I, for one, am tired of delays.
IIRC, there were rumors that Nismo themselves may be outsourcing the manufacturing of these systems to Alpine. So there's a chance that Steve is talking about Nismo.
Though don't quote me on that.

Stillen is not the "private label"
Here's the email I got.
Joe:
I can't tell you the client is, but I CAN tell you it isn't Stillen! (They
went to one of our competitors, and was designed an Eaton s/c kit that you
have to cut a hole in the hood for!)

Yup the cost will most likely be $4000-4500 now and we'll be lucky to see them by next spring.
If it's NISMO I'd be suprised as the talk about them doing something in the U.S. has gone on for over a year and still nothing. I almost hope it's not them as we'd probibly not see it till the 7th gen comes out
and $tillen..."`00-`03 Frontier / X-Terra (3.3L-V6) Supercharger Kit
(anticipate CARB certification)
This kit is in the final stages of development, and anticipate if passing CARB, will include the limited "3-Year / 36,000 Power Train Warranty" and optional "extended power train warranty. As we get nearer to the availability date, will know what other year/model applications this should fit. This will still be offered by Alpine Developments.
Available: Late August.
New MSRP: $3000."
Based on this info we'd lucky if it is even next spring. They haven't even started developmet on ours yet...
No FA, no headers... well it gives me time to run my warranty out
Any other S/C systems in the works, besides the Stillen?? I was looking forward to this Alpine system, but I would agree that the addition of a "middle man" is going to add some time(warranty basis will probably need to be worked for a while). $3500.00 was about the limit I would pay for 60hp on this and 4500.00 is not going to work for me(may-be if it includes full install, tuning and a huge warranty for the entire drivetrain).
Nismo will be here and releasing their products soon. I know this because the middle man I usually deal with to get Nismo products just stopped carrying it and said I will be able to get it directly from Nismo soon.

I'm just to the point where I'm about to lose it and go out and buy a Z. The aftermarket for the Maxima is boring! Intake, exhuast, pulley....not even headers or an intake manifold...or even an ECU reprogram. Need something to break into LS1 territory. Plus those of us 3.5VQ owners who aren't running nitrous will soon be getting dusted by EVO, STi, and SRT owners with minimal modifications. Each month that goes buy we're sliding further and further towards the bottom of the food chain.

ou bought a 4-door sedan and are trying to turn it into a car it's not. Buy a Z. If you wanted a car you could mod, why'd you get a Maxima in the first place?
