Alpine Developments Aqua-cooled Supercharger Kits for 2002+ Maxima and I35

Hey guys. Jay and I attended the 2002 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this month and we're please to inform you of this great news. One of the manufacturers that we visited, Alpine Developments, has in developement (and planned to be CARB Certified) and Aqua-cooled Supercharger Kit for the 3.5L V6 Nissan Maxima... along with the 2002 V6 Altima, 2003 350Z, 2002 Infiniti G35, and Infiniti I35. The estimated time that the kits will be available is in March 2003. The future GD price along with the actual MSRP is still not available but we're trying hard to get some kind of figures by the end of November. Stay tuned because we will be pumping info on this thread and the Group Deal thread when we receive it.

Also... In case you know someone... Alpine Developments will also have Turbo w/intercooler Kits for the 2.5L Inline-4 2002-03 Sentra SE-R Spec-V and the 2.5L Inline-4 2002 Altima unveiling in February 2003.

Seems like they have an SC for the VG right here

Edit: They also seem to use the Eaton type SC

Great news but What is an Infinity? It's infiniti I hate it when people spell it with a "Y" instead of a "I". It's all good though

I hear you man. I hate when people use "to" when they mean "too." And everyone does that on these boards.

well...

now maybe we 2k2 guys wouldn't have to worry about our missing 15 hp.... but then again....

but that would be oh so sweet having a sc.... dang, should have waited for a max that came with the hlsd.... now all that the car is gonna do is spin donuts with the "wishful thinking" additional power... and them blowtenzas will probably melt at the touch of the throttle.... we'll wait and see....

Do you think this mod is going to be one of those "Bolt on in 10 minutes like a FSTB " or more like "You better be dating a mechanic to get this thing working....oh and your warantee is toast "

Do you really need an answer to that???? Warrantee is gone, and you better know what you are doing or get a mechanic....

Me to.

Any chance of getting one for the fourth Gens? Or are they figuring that there are so many cars with the 3.5 they can make one to fit them all with minor adjustments? Wouldn't there be a big difference between a SC for a front drive and rear drive 3.5?

..if I knew the answer! I've heard of some manufacturers offering superchargers that keep the warrantee in tact (Toyota comes to mind).

OK... HERE"S YOUR UPDATE GUYS...

Just got off the phone with Stephen from Alpine Developments and this is what we discussed.

1. The Suggested Retail Price with be around $3,100 - $3,300. Still no clue how much for the Group deal.

2. WARRANTY... and not only a warranty on the SC kit but a complete Powertrain Warranty comes with this SC Kit which covers your whole engine. This 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty comes with this kit at no extra cost. They will also offer an extended warranty and I'll post more specs about that when I get more info. Now you can have this kit installed by an Alpine Developments certified installer OR you can install this kit yourself, call their 800 number, and an Alpine Developments Rep/Tech will go to your location, inspect how you've installed this kit, and validate your warranty right there. IS THIS CRAZY OR WHAT? WHAT KIND OF COMPANY DOES THIS? I'll tell you... its Alpine Developments... the same guys who makes stuff for TRD.

3. Stephen from Alpine Developments also mentioned to me that NISMO approached him about these kits. Now if NISMO covers the cost of all development... guess what... these kits will be renamed as NISMO SuperCharger Kits instead of Alpine Developments. If this happens, Alpine Developments will have to train a lot of Nissan Dealership Technicians of how to install these kits because they will be available from Nissan Dealerships across the country.

4. Here's something for evryone else with a Maxima from 1989-2001... if you guys E-mail Stephen from Alpine Developments and show him the kind of demand is out there for SC or Turbo Kits for other years he will make them. His E-mail address is sbelanger@alpine-developments.us

Now do we, at MAXX TUNING USA, try to hook up the Maxima community or what? I'm here all day and when I'm not helping customers, I'm out there looking for stuff for us (Maxima owners). Today I have stumbled over another new product for 5th and 4th gens. TEIN High Performance Suspensions have an application for Lowering Springs for the 2000-2003 Maxima. And they also have in development an application for the 1995-1999 Maxima. The Retail price for these springs are $200 plus shipping but we're going to see what we can do with a group deal. These Springs will drop the 5th Gen 2.2 inches in the front and 1.6 inches in the rear. We will post more info on the springs in the Group Deal Section once we work something out with the reps from TEIN. You can visit the TEIN web site at www.tein.com

Ugh! What about us 2k VQ3.0 guys? This should be out about the time my warranty expires.

And on the Tien springs, do they require camber plates, etc?

So, if NISMO sells them they will cost 2x as much, so I'm failing to see the benefit of getting NISMO involved.

A new SC for the 3.5s sounds good. What I'm wondering is, if they use an Eaton SC, won't it turn out like this?

I know the engine is mounted different on the Maxima\Altima, but even so, is there enough room under the hood for an Eaton SC? I don't think a hood scoop or cut-out would look right on the Maxima.

I think we have a little more room to work with than this

The Tein Springs do not require camber plates... more info about the TEIN S.Tech spring Group Deal is in the thread in the Group Deal Section.

About the hood clearance...

They will be prototyping the 350Z Supercharger kit first since it has the lowest hood to engine clearance. Once they work everything out with the 350Z it will definitly fit the maxima.

Oh and I'm pretty sure this will work for both Auto/6-Speed.

Get NISMO involved

Maybe NISMO getting involved is a good idea. That way they (local Nissan dealership) can install it professionally and if you have any problems you can take it right back to them. Around my area, there aren't many mechanics I trust and having the dealership install it would be my best option. The only problem would be paying the cost of labor which is probably at least 5 hours, which would be around at least a $300 installation fee. But that is a one time cost...they have to service any problems since there is a warrantee. Plus you just payed 3 grand for a kit, whats another $300. All in all this is great news for Maxima owner. It will be nice not to fear the LS1 anymore. I wonder how many PSI of boost we will be looking at? Also will it be intercooled?

NISMO isn't going to offer any warranty. You guys gotta be kidding. You don't see Dodge offering a warranty on any of the MOPAR stuff for the Neon SRT-4.
