HELP!! Changing Brake Pads
HELP!! Changing Brake Pads
I am changing the rear brake pads, I got the driver side ones to go on. But the passenger side piston wont budge. I opened up the bleeder plug but its still hard. I need help
What can I do.
What can I do.
Re: HELP!! Changing Brake Pads
You can't push them in. Take some needle nose pliers and place the tips in the notches in the piston. Turn the piston until it goes far enough back in for you to place the pad over the rotor. Don't forget to pupmp your brakes before you move the car.

Re: Re: HELP!! Changing Brake Pads
I'm turning the piston (clockwise) and it is still not going back in. When I turn it (counter clockwise) I feel a notch. What can I do now? So screwed. Thanks in advance.

You said you opened the bleeder vlave, did you close it? You probably have air in the lines now. You will have to bleed them whcih you will need a buddy to help you.
Anyhow try pumping the brakes a few times. Your brakes should still be there. Turn on the car and pump somemore. Drive the car slowly and make the brakes are working well before driving at normal speeds on public roads. Don't use the brake too hard for the next 200 miles or so.
