Spoiler

I am trying to get a factory style spoilah for my 02 MAx, and I went to the dealer and it was going to cost close to 600 dollars for a dealer spoiler. I was wondering, if the spoiler u see on ebay and other net sites worth it in value and craftsmanship? Has anyone here put on an aftermarket stock style spoiler on their max. I also need to get it painted and installed, Any advise what sites I can goto for quality spoiler and paint packages? Thanks All!

600 bucks for the stock oem rear spoiler of the maxima ? For 300 bucks, you can get an APR gt aluminum wing. May be ricey, but heys, spendin half of the other could give you a whole lot of mods from CAI, Unorthodox pulleys to Cat back systems or a front Kombat bumper from Visracing.com.

does the dealer offer it for 600 painted?

Becauase if it is, its not a bad price i think.
Its a factory painted color, so you dont have to worry about matching..

its got LEDs on it as well...

and the alumimun ones are just butt ugly, cheap looking and make it look ricey..u need a more elegant wing..like factory =]

Re: Spoiler

I put a spoiler on my 93 GXE a few years ago. It was purchased and installed at a small outfit that did various car mods. The color was very good and it was only about $150, about half the dealer cost (I think).

Check around your area for auto mod shops. You'll be able to see what they do and talk to them.

I got mine put on for $495 from the dealer. Check a few dealers and you'll probably find a better deal that way.

yeah...$600 from the dealer sounds a little steep. Mine was installed for about $495 too. I suggest buying from a dealer though, because they are the ones who can match your color exactly. If you buy it aftermarket, and it's a shade or two off, it's going to drive you nuts forever. Don't cheap out on something like that.

Was it 495 with installations?

Actually, I looked at my receipts again...$320 for a spoiler from the dealer, $25 for the cover to my inside brakelight, and $85 to have both installed so a total of $430 for everything. I think the parts manager gave me a discount though since I bought so many other parts from them.

Try netgearhead.com. They have the spoilers painted and shipped for under 200.

I also got my spoiler from spoiler depot for 185 painted and shipped. Cost me another 50 bucks at speedworld.com to have it installed. Looks great. And as far as the paint goes, it matches 100% (coming from a guy who claybars and waxes his car every 2 weeks)

I WOULD NOT buy from the stealer. $600 for a spoiler (whether painted or not), is a f*cking ripoff.

The factory style from spoilerdepot.com looks exactly like the real thing...for $250 painted. You can install it yourself; it's really easy. I bought a factory style spoiler for my '91 Legend Coupe last year--it looked awesome, good quality, and the paint matched up perfectly.

Good luck!

Isn't it Courtesy Nissan that gives Maxima.org members a discount on everything except accessories? Maybe a cheaper way to go (is a spoiler considered an accessory? it's a spare part too...)

Of course, installing it yourself might be a little too interesting.

I ended up getting my spoiler from some guy off ebay. I was a little wary of those guys that are selling 100's of spoilers on ebay but this guy was just selling his 1 spoiler which was already painted sterling mist and was new. I ended up getting a steal cause it was only 99 shipped. I installed it myself cause its pretty simple. Drill 6 holes and youre almost done.

I was really impressed with the quality of the spoiler and it matched perfectly

He said he was some auto mechanic and that he got the wrong color or wrong spoiler or something.

So i guess keep a lookout cause you never know what you'll find.
