Daytime Running Lights - Add ?
Daytime Running Lights - Add ?
My auto insurance company offers a discount for vehicles with DRL. I thought a few years ago I had seen something at Kmart or Target (or somewhere else) that could be installed in the car to offer DRL. I don't think it was very expensive or tough to install.
Does anyone know if something like this is available, and where?

i have state farm. as they were putting in the VIN, etc... they started asking
does it have alarm.....yes
window etching....yes
key chip securitsy ****......yes
daytime running lights.......yes
you think they ever actually checked to see if i had these things....NOPE
then again, the family has been with the same insurance agent. i repeat..AGENT, HE IS STILL FREAKIN ALIVE, for 30 years now, so he pretty much believes everything we tell him.
so try it. if anything, show them the "auto" function we have. might just fool them =)
My 02SE has an auto mode. I would think that you have it as well. The light is on when it gets darker. So, you will not twist the truth too much if you claim that you already have the daylight running light.
I personally don't like the light ON all the time. What is the deal? They think that we are retarded to the point that we cannot switch on the headlight when it is needed, don't they?
Yes, I've heard statistics that DRL helps. My guess is it refers to the situation a couple years ago when DRL was rare. When I saw a car with light on in the middle of a sunny day back then, I indeed try to stay away from that vehicle. Not because it was more visible, but I felt: "Perhaps, the lady is a novice driver or does not feel well, or something. She displays it to others with the headlights." However, in Canada DRL is a law. When I drove there, I knew it, and, of course, I did not stay away from the cars with DRL. I think if everybody would have it, then it won't work.
