Painting Interior pieces
I'm going to put on my aluminum dash kit soon.
I want to paint the pieces that are scratched up that won't be covered by the dash kit.
Any ideas how to get the paint on smooth?
I don't want to sand anything down. Any ideas?
TIA

I painted my gauge bezel and surround, turned out really well...If you are going to try painting them yourself, make sure you use a couple coats of clear coat, that will keep the paint from peeling off..My surroud gets touched quite often and I have had no issues with it...The paint looks perfect, too.
Just take your time and don't rush it...I'm sure you will be able to do it just fine

if you're gonna do it yourself, you gotta sand it. i sanded mine down with 300 grit sandpaper, then painted it using auto spray paint in light coats. it's very durable, and the finish is pretty nice too, though not as smooth as a i would like. i've had it for about 6 months now with no chipping or flaking. the reason why most painted interiors chip is because people are too lazy properly sand and prime the pieces before painting.
