Cutting a coil off the H&R's

considering doing this to the front springs. As you all know the HR's srop nicely in the rear but there is still a bit of wheel gap in the front. But I'm worried that it will make my ride bouncy.

Has anyone with done this? and if so.....how was your handling afterwards?

You're gonna have to cut the back as well.. Cut 2 coils off the front and 1 from the back.. That way, you wont have any wheel gap. And trade the tokicos for some agx's...

Talk to Emax before you do anything. He cut a coil of his H&R's in the front and had some rather bad results.

The H&Rs are rather conservative in the amount of "droppage". I've considered cutting a little off the front springs, but probably won't. I wouldn't try it unless somebody here actually has done it personally, and has told you what he came up with.

Cutting your springs reduces your wheel travel which increases ride harshness and increases your chances of bottoming out.

I cut my H&R's a while ago and the springs sat loosly on the shocks. Anotehr words when the car was jacked up the springs could be moved by hand, not good.. Don't do it.

BTW I have progress springs up front now.

that's why i have a spring guide welded on my front struts. so when i jack up my car, the springs don't pop.

as far as bottoming out with cut coils...well...i've never bottomed out. it also has to do with what kind of springs you're cutting and what kind of shocks ur running.

thanks for the info guys.....all things considered I'm keeping my HR's, not cutting anything and will be purchasing KYB AGX's soon.

I guess I could live with a bit of wheel gap for now

dropping my max further is not an option either...especailly since I have a bodykit and I live in NYC.

if you don't like the fender gaps, then you could try the TEIN springs(they supposely lowers the most) or save up and buy JIC coilovers
