i have (or should i say HAD) a 2K1 maxima GXE with about 24K miles, plus a few mods/accessories such as FSTB, chrome wheels, CD changer, etc etc.

thanks... dru.
exactly what type of coverage do you have? Most will base on market value but none I know of will take into account any kind of 'mods' unless they are factory installed options or specifically part of a policy rider/mentioned and documented.

I think you are looking at getting the market/book value for the car ONLY. I don't think the insurance company will reimburse for the mods unless you can provide sufficient paperwork and receipts, but I'm not even sure that this would float. It all depends on the insurance company as well. Best of luck to you!

Totaled 00 in 01

Our 00 SE was totaled in May 01. It had just about 15K on it. The only thing aftermarket was the chrome rims. Insurance offered $22,900 and which would leave about 7K left on the loan. When the agent looked at the car, he noted the condition of the car "Perfect", with low miles. I though the amount they offered was extremely low, but hey, what can you do?

yikes, glad to see that you are okay after seeing those pics. i just came back from salvaging my belongings from my wrecked car at the tow shop and it's just depressing. i almost wanted to cry. my insurance should be inspecting my car by the end of this week, hopefully they will offer a fair amount.

just curious, how would an agent determine if the car condition was "perfect" before an accident?

Damn, you came out alive out of that? What the heck happened there?

The car looks like a tank was dropped on it. What happened?

Some things you can tell looking at the car, even in the state it was in. You could see the carpets and the seats and the paint job. The front drivers side took the force of the accident, so the after the top of the car was cut off, you could see the condition of the inside of the car.

i usually do like 90 in the rain and i never had a problem. i've got avon zz1 tires on 16 inch rims. yokohama tires are best for the rain. they actually work better in the rain then when it's dry.
