2004 Max Link
i dont think thats the next max, i thnik its the teana http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...t=1#Post365059
it says it shares "suspension" with the 2k2 altima. i was really hoping to at least see the end of the multilink beam...
the interior looks kind of euro and cool. renault-inspired headrests, tho - is that supposed to be a good thing?
the last thing i need/want in a max is to try and pull more car around with the same engine. we're trying to reduce that ratio, nissan, hello!

The 2k2 Altima has an independent rear suspension. The Max and I35 are, I think the last US Nissans that still have the rear beam suspension.
edit: The current Sentra still has the beam axle as well.
i rather the next gen max stay the same size or hopefully even smaller.....
i mean... who the **** wants a huge *** sport sedan?!?
even if u can smoke a lot of ppl with that maxima... u wont be able to smoke them with style, man.......

"What about on straight line ? with 1720kg to pull, Renault seeks help from Nissan’s big capacity V6 to power the flagship Vel Satis. This VQ35DE, an all-alloy 3.5-litre V6 with continuous VVT at both intake and exhaust cams and a resonance variable intake, came from Altima and Maxima. With 245hp and 85% of its 243 lbft maximum torque from 1200rpm, it is the best thing Renault can dream of. The VQ is also renowned for its smoothness and enthusiastic sound. Renault claims this Vel Satis accelerates from 0-60mph in 7.8 seconds and tops 146mph. Good enough considering the comfort bias of the car."

The first post in the Freshalloy thread says that the Teana will replace the Laurel and Cefiro in many countries. For those who don't know, the Cefiro is the J-spec Maxima. The Teana could very well be our next Maxima, since it was supposed to share platforms with the 3rd gen Altima.
Oh, and just because it uses the same platform does not necessarily mean it will be the same size. The chassis can be lengthened or shortened to suit the designer's taste. Look at the Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, New Beetle, and the Audi TT. Especially with the last two, you'll notice how just one platform was just stretched or shortened to whatever size the VAG(Volkswagen-Audi Group) wanted.

Explore the link more closely. I went to the main section and and checked out some of the other content. I would not trust all the information provided. Read about the guy's adventure at the **** movie set and at the car show. The Infinit G35 is coming out with a station wagon version??
