Question about the base Stereo (single/CD) in the SE 2k2/3

Is the base 6-spk system BOSE? The one that has the singleCD player? Or is a generic "AC/Delco"-eque brand?

Depends...

The Bose sound system (Speakers Only) uses a deck manufactured by Clarion... If I had to guess, the single would be the same, the only difference would be no Bose speakers... Any know otherwise?

It's a Clarion, but I'm not sure if it's the same as the HU used for the Bose system. According to MiniRX7 in this post the Bose speakers use a much lower impedence than the norm, so that implies a different HU.

The difference is the setup going to the speaker. In the BOSE setup, the HU feeds a signal to the AMPS which then go to the 1 ohm speakers. In the non-bose, or traditional setup, the HU is also the amp, so the powered signal goes straight to the higher ohmed speakers.

If your system was BOSE, you would know it. There would be some BOSE label on the HU and the rear speakers or sub-woofer.
