Turn signal bulbs- silver colored but blink amber OR white
I just found a great deal on 1157 turn signal bulbs that are chrome colored but blink amber or hyperwhite. I paid $6.95 per bulb and it got rid of that horrid blue colored (and amber for you stockers)bulb that is visible in my front turn signal.
Streetbeatcustoms.com has them available in both amber and hyper white. I don't think they are listed on the website, but ask them for them. No, I don't work for them, but I am VERY happy with the way they look and perform. MUCH better than spraypainting bulbs.

Bulbs don't count. Oh, and neither does the NX remote bottle opener that I am installing this weekend.

The bulbs I bought are made by APC. They are not titanium colored- they are chrome. I don't see them anywhere online.

you can make your own, search around, basically u just spray a silver paint (high temp) really lightly over the amber bulb.

These are much brighter than the spray painted ones. Also, the paint did not stick evenly to the bulb when I tried it (more than once).
$7 per bulb is well worth it IMO. I was about to spend almost $30 for the set online at autolamps.com or something like that.

i tried painting my 1157s silver with light coats of high temp paint but when i put em in a couple days later there was smoke or something coming off of the bulb when they were on(not completely dry)??? I have the polarg Gs in my rear turn signals. They are nice but I paid like 20 per bulb for those....

Eliminates the AMBER running lamp filament on the 1157 bulb used for a 2K-2K1 headlamp, but still uses the blinker filament. This mod makes the headlamps only produce white light until the blinker is activated, which looks better in my opinion especially with clear front corners.
1)Remove the bulb/socket from the headlamp housing.
2)Remove the bulb from the socket.
3)Place SMALL piece of black electrical tape over ONE "knub"(small contact on bottom of bulb).
4)Reinstall bulb into the socket.
5)Turn on hazards(or blinker with keys in ignition). If it flashes reinstall bulb/socket into the headlamp housing, if not, remove bulb from the socket and move the electrical tape to the other "knub".
I have pics of mine on my web page if you want to see how it looks.

The Philips silver visions would be awesome if they made them in 1157, they don't as far as I know. Anyway, I got mine off ebay, they aren't pure silver, they are very lightly yellow in the housing, but getting more so it seems. They were 5 bucks a piece, stock yellow when on. I'm gonna get the APC ones this weekend and try them out. 10 bucks at Pep Boys I think. Looked good on another ride I saw

I just used cheap silver paint from wal mart.
I have a 4th gen and I put this on the 194s in the sidemarkers and on the 1156s in the blinkers. You cant see the bulbs at all through my diamond clear bumper lights in the day, but when they flash, or at night, they are still plenty bright amber.
If I had a digicam, I'd take pics...
