Just installed Satellite Radio

Just installed Satellite Radio
Just had the Sirius Satellite Radio installed in my 2KSE with Bose. I left the head unit in and just had it installed via FM modulation. I know, I know, you would think the sound would be bad, but it isn't. It sounds as good as my CDs in my car. I had the controller custom mounted where the sunglass holder was...looks sweet. I would recommend it to you guys...seriously. About $450 installed - including the custom mounting.
BTW, I have like 7 different rap stations - including ol' school.

I wouldn't mind having that installed, but I don't want to drop that kind of cash right now. How much is the monthly subscription?

stay tuned.. I'm gonna rock your world with a CD Changer cable hack write up soon. No modulation needed if you have a trunk mounted changer..
yeah.. Siruis or XM.. definately. I've got XM. The Rhyme XL and Raw XL, good stuff... Also like the Jungle/Drum&Bass on sat channels. Never going back to FM and the ClearChannel crap.
I wish they would stop trying to sell Sat Radio on quality/clarity. People can argue that all day long.. and now with Digital FM, they wont win that arguement. They need to compare themselves to Cable TV. Like ABC (free) vs HBO (subscription) programming. Thats where sat radio rocks.

"sounds of the seasons" (money around the holidays!)
Reggae (digital plays all Jamaican music from 60's - today, which is too broad).
what are some of the oddest and worst sat stations?

I have satellite radio and it is def. worth the 13$ a month. it is even better if you listen to all kinds of music because they have so many different stations! including my personal favorite, the blues/jazz category. No im kidding, i'm only 16. To me it is a waste of stations.

Do you get Sports Radio ????
Just wondering .... ever since I moved, I can't get to see my home NBA/NFL teams play.
Does satellite radio atleast broadcast the radio version of the game ???
I would drop the 450 into it, if I can get that !!!

That was a great idea to mount it up there. Do you have any pics of the controller mounted up there? I am considering the satellite radio for my Max and any ideas would be appreciated.

Also, be weary of the teenagers that install at Bestbuy. Better to go to a reputable shop.

Dang, I was told that it had to mount to something metal for reception quality. It is on my truck deck lid. I have a black car so it doesn't really look bad - plus people are always asking what it is.

Internet Radio is where it's at for the house. A little OT but if you're into home theater, get an Audiotron. It will stream MP3s and Internet Radio to your home theater (displays tags and station info). Digital quality, commercial free, TONS more stations than XM or Sirrus (30 in my "Dance" category alone) and FREEEEEEE!!!!! I swear by it! Makes satelite radio look like a joke.
Now, next thing is to drag a REALLY long Cat6 cable to my Max

Some dumbazz said it wasn't available anymore and I did't check back to find out it was still happening until too late.

I've have XM radio since Ocotber and it is by far the best thing to happen to radio. I have the Adelphi unit with the antenna in the read deck and paid only $250 installed w/ the tape deck adapter at Circuit City. Haven't listen to regular radio since. I get a little static every now and then but not significantly noticeable. I don't really recognize any difference in sound quality, although the base is a little more profound on some stations compared to radio.
