Hi Folks. I've got a 2k2 I35 auto and have been wondering lately if there might be something wrong with it. It seems that when I drive it that it's louder all the way up to 2000 RPM. After that, it quiets down and drives smoothly. It's a louder kind of groaning sound and while I don't want to say I feel grinding...it feels like the car is laboring until it gets past that 2k mark.
I don't remember it doing this for the first couple months that I had it, so I'm thinking something has gone wrong. I can't, however, figure out if it's engine, transmission, or a cockeyed idea of broken motor mounts (that entered my head today).
Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences?
Thanks,
John

Weird how it seemed to happen recently though. I don't remember hearing this when I first got it. Probably still in that love-with-new-car feeling.
I'll probably whine about it to the dealership when I take it in to get some wind noise issues addressed. The Infiniti dealer always seems to respond better to whining and b*tching than Nissan dealerships it seems

Please post if they find anything in regards to the issue. I wish you have a better luck w/Infiniti dealer since the Nissan dealer where I purchase my car really suck!Originally posted by MetaOrbit

my 2k2 max does it too...started happening after a month after i got it...it's kinda of annoying, but i've seen it on other cars too, so i'm not sure. (if not a groaning, under 2k, it definitely seems to rev more smoothly 2K-3.5KOriginally posted by MetaOrbit
