5spd owners

When you quickly depress the clutch and throw it in reverse, does your tranny make a noise as if you did not completely disengaged the clutch? Mine does. I have checked the clutch on the road, it seems fine.

Yes...I fairly regularly hear a similar sound.

When shifting into reverse, you should wait slightly after depressing the clutch before shifting. This gives the the input shaft to slow down a little before locking in the gears for reverse. This is normall in many manual transmissions, no problem just slow down.

Reverse is the only gear without synchromesh - in most modern transmissions and certainly in the Max - take your time so you don't fill the case with metal filings.
