wouldn't the smart choice be to go with the Maxspeeds since you get the same drop? for $85 you can't beat that price and I haven't heard any real bad feedback on the Maxspeeds.

www.adventon.com has them cheap... plus, get a quote from www.shox.com and they will match lowest prices and their shipping costs are reasonable.

Re: Eibachs VS Maxspeed... PICS !

I got the Eibach pro kit because it was supposedly the least of a drop... there are two different Eibach kits though I thought - the pro kit and the "other" which has about a 2 inch drop....

As you can see both cars are on 19's with 35 series tires...

The 'other' is their sportline kit. Supposedly it drops you 2", but Eibach does not make those for the Maxima.

Kloogy, great comparison!

I picked up my Eibachs for around $189. Unfortunately, the import shop I purchased them for did not have time for an install and they reminded me too much of the FNF crew, so I took it elsewhere for installation. Install was $300 including alignment and tire balance/rotate. A little high, but if something goes wrong, they will fix it. I have 20k ( 2k2 ) on the springs with stock struts/shocks and have not had any problems at all. I would not suggest shaving the factory bump-stops if using the factory struts/shocks or you will eventually blow one. Ride is better than factory for sure. Big road dips are a bit annoying with stockers though. Wish AGX would get off their butts and release a set for the '02-03's!

Dave, where ya been? Looks like us "X"ers have to come here ta see ya!!!

are agx's the best struts available and do they make real ones or still the adjusted ones for `01's?

The AGX's seem to be the best "bang for the buck" adjustable's out there. I have not heard or seen any negative comments about them. They still have not released the '02-03 mods yet ( If they ever will ). Cattman sells a modified version of the '00-01, but I do believe the modification voids the factory warranty and results in a higher price.

Good comparo. I think Eibach is conservative on their advertised measurements for lowering. I had the Pro-kit installed on my 97 and my dad had them installed on his 95 and both cars appear to be a fair amount lower than what Eibach said they'd be. With 225/55-16s on my 97 there's less than an inch (maynbe .75") from the top of the tire to the wheel well. Suprisingly, ground clearance is pretty decent.

A question for cwally & kloogy, how do your Max's ride on 19's versus say 18's or the stock 17's? I was thinking about upgrading to 18's but now you have me thinking about 19's. Also, since cardomain is down, what size rims/tires are you both running. Thanks.

We are running the tire size 245/35-19 Nitto 555 Extremes. I would go to 19"s. I started with the 18"s and was told if you are even thinking about 19"s go with them. It proved true with me. The ride quality is almost the same depending on what tire size you opt to go with. I am also running a wheel size of 19x8. Let me know if you have any other questions...

I am too lazy to do the search now, but what coilovers are avail for 2k Max, how much they cost, and how low can you make your ride w/them?

Cwally & kloogy, thanks for the info! I was also looking at going with a 245/35 if I go 19" (not much of a tire selection though). Is the ride substantially firmer than stock? My 97 with just Eibachs and AGXs using the stock tires is quite a bit firmer but not uncomfortable or "bouncy".

I'm also looking at 19x8 as the size in Moda R6's.

One last question, how about a ride? I live in So. OC so I'm not too far away...

Let me know exactly what wheels and tires you want for your car. If you have gotten a price, let me know. I have a friend who works at discount tire and he can give me a good deal.

As for a ride, we are both in San Diego, so let either of us know. Maybe we can get together on the weekend and go get a bite to eat. And you can test drive them.
