Eibachs VS Maxspeed... PICS !

I know a lot of people always want to compare drop heights on springs. Cwally and I took side by sides of our cars... My car has Maxspeeds ( White Max ) ... He has Eibachs.. ( Silver Max ) . The Eibachs seem to be a bit lower for sure. Hope this helps you guys out ! ..

As you can see both cars are on 19's with 35 series tires...

I would too... I keep hearing Tein is quite a bit lower. Im just happy with what I have , because I dont have the huge wheel gap, and I dont scrape anywhere, even with people in the car.. But I do want to see the Tein setup...

they basically look the same to me but CWallys probably looks a little lower because of the aerokit.

Nice Pic

Good comparision of the two drops. This will definitly help the ones looking for those spring set-ups. But if the group deal goes well, only five more left for the list, then I will put of Tein drop pics for sure...

nah...i think they're almost the same...look at both car's headlights, not the bumper. Carlos' bodykit makes it look lower..

but the question is, i thought the Maxspeeds were suppose to be lower than Eibachs..no?

I drew some reference markings and I feel that the camera wasn't square to the two cars. Judge for yourselves.

Kloogy - are both of you on stock struts? I've got Maxspeeds, and I'm putting them on this winter while the car is parked, just want to know what to expect.

Hey I got them right when I bought the car in 2000, but if I remember correctly I think it was 229. But dont quote me...Oh yeah and I got them at a import shop here in San Diego.

i have a 2001 w/15k miles on it. would you recommend using my stock struts, or upgrading them to kyb's or something like that? also, does your car's ride feel similar to a completely stock setup? i'm basically looking for a nice drop with an as-close-to stock setup as possible. thanks.

I would have pics of the Tein drop but the rep. told me that they will be here and ready to ship mid-Jan. So that let all my hopes down and really wanted to see how they were going to be. So I and all of you will have to wait until then. Sorry guys.

Later,

Chris

To save yourself some money you can kill two birds with one stone and not have to pay twice to get the shocks installed later. At the time, all I had was enough to buy the springs, so I went with just springs. I left them on also cuz I had read that you can run them for a while. I amt 75,000 miles and am going to be changing them soon. Most springs that lower the car do make it a similair ride. I have driven on Kloogys car and in mine, and they seem to be pretty much the same. The only one I think that is probably similair to stock are the H&Rs. But from the pics on the H&Rs they dont seem to drop it enough, no matter what they say they drop. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions.

The rides are almost identical to me. I am more concerned with trying to decide if I like the 2k2 headlights or the AE headlights better, if the 2k2 had clear where the orange is, it would be hands down. I do like how the 2k2 is more squared design compared to the 2k (your car is still tight though Carlos). You guys are competiting for the most "bling" in SoCal

Heck yeah ! .... I can't hang with Cwally on my best day ! ...

I do have stock struts and shocks. I have logged about 10K miles on the setup, and have no problems. I know BigDog has logged even more miles than that on the identical setup, with good results. I have driven in Cwallys car many times, and I find both rides to be identical. All I know is when I hit the twisties, the car handles great. I also have an RSB, FSTB, and 245 tires... that entire combo works great for me. YES the Eibachs are slightly lower. I am just afraid if I go any lower, it will look great, but I will start to scrape , and hit things, which I don't do now. I really wouldn't swap the Maxspeeds out, unless I get coilovers.

Identical in speed too? I think the white is more show and cwally's is more concervative, but with the kit it looks more euro.

I got my Eibachs for $300 installed at a shop. I thought it was a darn good price especially since I don't have to mess with installing the springs. Let me know if you think it's good and if you are in the so cal area I can talk to the guy for you. Just a thought...
