Got the chance...

Well, when i first got my car back in august, it came with a dent in the roof so i later scheduled an appointment to have it taken out (they did a damn good job) and meanwhile I got to drive a top of the line Max with the Bose system for a full week. I cranked that system as loud as it would go, without of course spliting my head. Everything inside and outside the car vibrated, but only because of the bass. I played Orgy, Filter, Eiffel 65 all the loud stuff, but never really noticed any undesireable noises coming from the sub, or anywhere else for that matter. So, even though I cant say ive had the problem, i can at least say that its more than likely a problem to fix. It might be the fittings, the cone maybe? or it could just be something loose in the car thats rattling around.

Its prolly that rear deck. Soo meny of us has had that rear deck shake loose b/c of subs and all. I had a system in my car for maybe a few months, I pulled it out b/c the rear deck felt like it was gonna pop out. stuck some polyfill under it, it went away some but now it bothers me on some days when I got nothing to do while driveing but to pay attention to noises comeing from the car. my advice, take it to the dealer and have them check it out. Don't take the deck off yourself or the dealer will tell U its out of warranty.

Same problem here. Sometimes rear passengers say something about it.

You know... I thought Nissan was supposed to be high quality...?? I'm putting 2 12" MTX 6000's in the back of my 01' SE this weekend, I sure hope i dont have to worry too much about rattles... its a pain to have to find and figure out how much polyfill, noiseblocker, or screws you need.

I haven't been in a single premium sound system equiped car that has never rattled. Quality or not, the rear deck can only take a certain amount vibration before it rattles. On my car, the rattle isn't the trunk lid, Im suspecting the factory Amp isn't mounted tightly.

Versace...i've got 2 12" jl 12w3's in a custom box that hits 146.0 dB and my trunk, rear clears, and rear deck rattle a ton (the part of my roof where my sunroof goes into when it is opened flaps up and down about .5" each way...i've heard this is completely normal w/ a lot of bass, though)...i had my trunk and rear deck dynomatted and i put about half a roll of double sided sticky tape on my license plate and rear clears...took a lot of tape but those don't rattle anymore...now it rattles a lot less but still rattles some...but hey, unless you have a bimmer, that is whats going to happen
