Re: Bra!!!

I have one for my '01 SE. I also went out and got the mirror covers. I love it. I only use it for really long road trips and in good weather. The fit is great and the quality is high. After the initial fitting, it goes on and off quite easily. Worth the money!

I have the nissan one on there now!
I will order the colgan because mine is almost 3 years old!
I leave it on all winter but make sure I take it off every 2 months and clean and wax the front end!
NO problem with paint!!
Do you have screen in front of the grille?
The bra's on the mirrors don't look wacky?

There is a screen in front of the grille which is nice.

The mirror covers are kinda nutty looking, so I never use them unless going on a really long trip, and then I take them off fast afterwards. But they work and were only $30 for the pair, so I just got them to complete the set.

I never leave any of that stuff on for too long. I put them on before the long trip, and I take them off immediately once I get to my destination. I just don't want anything happening to the paint on front.

I've seen what leaving a bra on all time can do to a car's paint job, and I would never want that to happen to my Maxima. Some people don't seem to have problems, but I don't want to take chances.

I don't put on the bra for relatively short trips like going back and forth to work (around 90 miles per day), but I do use it all the time for trips that involve several hundred miles where the roads aren't always perfect and where lots of trucks haul their stuff. But again, everything gets put on before the trip and then everything comes off as soon as I get there.

Generally, if the weather is really bad, I don't even put the gear on unless the car is dry to begin with. I don't want deal with wet material, so that's why I leave it all off when it's raining outside.

The material is really good, but the front bumper piece doesn't line up with the hood piece along the sides of the hood for some reason.

Also the plastic coating on the hooks for the hood piece aren't very durable. I had to cover the hooks with electrical tape because they were breaking through the plastic.

In my opinion, I think the OEM bra looks a lot better. It blends in with the car better and its a darker black than the Colgan. But I don't know how the backing on the OEM bra is. The Colgan has a very soft and thick padding on the back to protect the paint from scrapes.

I only put my bra on the car after washing it. If it's going to rain, I take the bra off and drive so I don't have to worry about having it dry before putting it back on.
I took the advice of others and I am not using the bra for the winter. My paint is bad enough as it is.
