Nissan Bra --POS

I finally get my Nissan Bra tonight...and the damn thing is WAY to tight. So tight one of the retaining clips ripped the bra and broke off.

That was on the hood...the easy one. The bumper bra didn't even come close to fitting...I have no idea how these guys designed this thing. The directions don't mention how to install half the clips for the bottom bra. I know its supposed to be tight, but this is ridiculous. Now I have to go back tomorrow to return/replace it.

Has anyone had any luck installing one of these on a 2002?

Did you do it in the sun on a semi warm day the first time? The leather will streatch a little if you leave it in the sun before you install it the first time. I remember my bra kit actually said that on the instructions!

they are suppose

to be tight... because you won't want the bra to be flopping around while you are driving at the highway speed.... I think they are hard to put on, and a b1tch to keep it clean.. that's why I sold mine

It was a little cold in the garage, but I left the bra inside for a few hours and even used a blow dryer to loosen the material.

The directions are worthless, dimmly lit pictures make it hard to see where everything is supposed to go.

When I tried to put on the bottom part, it was so tight the bumper was creaking...felt like I was going to rip the bumper off while putting it on.

I am taking it back today...guess I'll let them replace it and try again when its sunny.

By the way, on the drive in today (first time driving the Max to work in a while)...three nice new nicks in the paint. Great!

Bra will ruin your paint, I have the one from Nissan and the only time I use mine is when I go on road trips to protect the car from chips!

max7,

Thats what I am going to do...alot easier to fix scratches than chips.

maxedout1,

There is no body kit, this Max is only 6 weeks old.

I beleive the kit is designed for my 2002, but it seems way to tight. The easiest piece to put on should be for the hood, yet no matter how hard I tried to work it on, the bra would not line up with the two pieces on the hood that come down on either side of the grille. The straps on the hood portion hook into two pre-existing holes on the under side. Even at its best position, the bra was always a full 4 to 5 inches from the outward rim of the hole. I finally tugged on it thinking it would stretch to the hole, that was when the strapped ripped off taking a chunk of the car bra seam with it.
