anyone with exp w/kyb agx?

I put Eibach's on a while ago, now I have 34K on my 01 SE and the Tokiko's don't seem to hold very well anymore. Has anyone done the KYB AGX from Cattman? I understand he does a customized one for the 2001. I like the idea of the adjustment, that way I'm not commited to any particular firmnes right off the bat. Would appreciate anyone's comments and assesments of these shocks or others I might consider.

They are great shocks. Just make sure that you don't overtighten the rear top nut or it will squeak like crazy.

It's not that hard to modify them for a 5thgen.. All you have to do is shave the bottom holes for the bolts and use 4thgen upper strut mounts..

I have them with Ground Controls.. I gotta tell ya, I don't bottom out as much compared to when I had Eibachs and stock struts.

I thought 5th gen Eibach rear springs don't sit correctly on the rear KYBs... The rear shocks are actually the 4th gen model unmodified.

So what you're saying is that I should verify this w/Cattman first?

I have that exact setup on my 2000 Max and YES the Eibach's don't fit right on the back....but I have had them that way for 6 months and have not had any problems. The ring on the spring is a little too small for the bottom plate on the strut. It looks a little funny but handles just fine. I have moded out almost the entire suspension and it works great with no problems. By the way the car really bites on to the street when you turn............Ya baby!

I assume you have the AGX's? When I originally got the Eibachs, they shipped the wrong springs, that were not small enough on the bottom (the spring gets smaller at the end) Then I got the right ones, so it works great. BTW, what tires are you running. IT's time for me to get tires on the stock 17x7's

I am running Dunlop 235/40ZR18 on Koing Tantrum 18 X 8.5. I needed to extra room for the 300ZX brake mod. (that works very nice also)

Yeah, I was thinking of wheels by the time I needed tires, but I don't want to spend the dough, so I'll need to go w/whatever fits on the 7x17

Is that the nut on top of the strut tower that is accessible with the hood up?? Thanks.
