So me and my GF were eating a nice dinner and....
She asks if I was going to get her a ring for Christmas. It was cute so i laughed. She got mad and said outloud, "MAXINE GETS EVERYTHING SHE WANTS." All of Olive Garden turns and looks at me. Now it looks like I'm cheating on her. So I turn around and look at everyone and say,"MAXINE IS MY CAR AND SHE DOESN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING."

(cause once maxine gets all the gifts, yours will be bound to come along some day )

Oh man...
Nothing says pushy like "Give me a ring"! Do yourself a favor, if you are going to get it for her don't give it on Christmas or her birthday. If you end up breaking up with her (which is what I would have done had I gotten that treatment at the Olive Garden) you can get the ring back because it is part of an agreement...a contract if you will. No marriage, no ring.
HOWEVER, if you give it to her on X-mas or her birthday it's considered a gift. No matter what happens the ring is hers!
My buddy got pressured for getting his chick a ring. He finally got it and then they broke up. Nice. He got the ring back but what the hell do you do with it??? Ha ha. Good luck

Yeah my girl has said no to spending any money on the max until we're married. I understand her point, and i'm pretty sure as soon as she has a ring, she's gonna let go of the purse strings a little.
She knows the ring is coming soon (she doesn't know it's coming today), and the other day she was asking how much the rims i wanted were going to cost. She never cared before. . . So maybe i'm better off.

Hey, you know the difference between your job and your wife? After 10 years the job still sucks!
Congrats...I think

Thanks. . .I think. Well she actually has every right to monitor the money, seeing as how right now she makes more money than I do, and I have a substantial amount of debt to pay back, due to college loans ($17,000), and then she's helping me pay for the new max.

Too Funny!
Man, that story is too funny. Although, I think I would have been a little upset by it going on in Olive Garden. My girl will be getting a ring shortly. Although, she has never asked for one. My trouble is, I need some tires/rims for the Max. I definitely need new tires, so I want to upgrade the puny 16 rims to some 18's. I am hoping to do this for under or at 1G. But still, that is totally going to hamper my ability to get the ring for my target date. I hate tough decisions! But in the end, the woman always wins out. And with good reason.

It's all downhill from here on out.

LOL!!!!!!!! My rule of thumb is two 'spends'
for the Max and one each for my wife and daughter -now you know why my Max is not modded more.
Lessee...the Eibachs and Tokicos equated to one tennis bracelet for my wife and a Tag Heuer for my daughter, purchased while in Malaysia, the RSB and FTSB equated to two pairs of 22k gold earrings for my wife and one for my daughter...you get the drift.
Hey, it's worked for 22 years of marital bliss....so take note!

Ahhh, I get it now...
Now I understand why all you guys have such modded cars...you're not married yet! Once you get hitched, as Col. Klink used to say on the old "Hogan's Heroes" TV show, "(Your Name Here), for you the war is over!" (translated, game over!)
Once you sign on boys, it's pretty much game over for all the uninhibited spending on your rides!!!
Congrats to those popping the question.
