Sears has them on sale for $189.00 a tire with road hazard and tax it comes out to $774.86 mounted and balanced depending in where you live is could be cheaper because of taxes. I live in cook county IL taxes are %8.75. They are also on sale at Tirerack for $197.00 with shipping their cost is $818.36 for all 4 plus you have to get them mounted and balanced which is probably $10.00 a wheel at your local NTB. Tireracks price does not include a road hazard either. We all know the stock Craptenzas suck! But are these Pilots really that good? Compared to what I've seen others pay I think $774 is a descent price. They are on back order and will take a week to get in and I think the sale is only for this week. Any feedback on these tires would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you confirm that they had them in stock? There has been a National backorder.

Which Sears store exactly in Cook county did you get this quote? I just called one of Sears and they said that $189 is for the tires only. If I install 4 tires with road hazard it will be over $900. I'm also in Chicago area. Thanks.

If you want the A/S's (lol)
and don't want to spend so much, get those Sumitomo HTR+ tires. Come in 225/45/17 (edit: you can get 50 width, but not sure about with 225. Tire rack for 99, probably less elsewhere!!) but these things are 99 bucks a tire and read the reviews, the difference between pilot sports is negligible. Seriously consider em

edit, here's a comparison

Sears at Golf Mill, Niles IL. Maybe the guy was wrong on the phone but this is the price that he quoted me and this is the price that I have them on hold for.

Update on Backorder

I just got off the phone with sears and they said at worst they won't have them in until 2nd or 3rd week in January. It gives you time to save...call and get locked in at the $189 price!

You're one lucky guy. I just talked to them and $189 a piece and mounting/balancing extra. What's your secret?? Oh, well....

FYI, I just had my PS A/S's put on at Spring Hill Sears (Kane County) and got them for $189...a tire. For all 4, mounting, balancing, valve stems, road hazard, and tax, out the door it was $880.xx. Sounds to me like he forgot to add the road hazard, which is 10% of the cost of the tire (18.99 a piece).

They are on backorder (6 week, I heard), which sucks because I think I have a bad tire, maybe a belt slip or something. I'm not too sure if you can get the sale price on special order tires, either. Like Virus implied, just call and find out.

I got the same tires from Costco in NJ for less than $200 each. It was an additional $8 for moutning, balance and stem. Road hazard is included.

These are the best tires and make a huge difference in the way the car rides. I wouldn't put anything else on it. I have about 20K on the new ones and there is still plenty of meat left and the ride is just as good as when I got them.

I only got 32K out of the OEM's....... Good Riddance.....

You got 32k out of the potenzas I just hit 9k and my fronts are about gone I know its my fault but the tires aren't worth keeping on the car anyway.

How true, how true!! Experience with the RE92's has come in handy though...parents are looking at a Lexus and I found out they ship with Michelins as well as the dreaded RE92's. I told them in no uncertain terms not to even drive off the lot with ANY car that has the RE92's on it.
