a better test (or "at least as good") is to look at the transmission code inside the engine compartment... "H" means "HLSD"... I believe "A" means 'no hlsd'

If you're wondering whether you have it or not, you can tell by your pedals. If you have all rubber pedals, then you don't have it. If you have metal/rubber pedals, then you do have it. I wondered the same thing after I bought my SE--I don't have it. Those who do say it makes a difference, but I'd guess you'd have to drive one of each to really know how useful it is.
