anything is possible with money, but i dont think anyone has spent the money to do that yet, i would imagine it would be a lot cheaper to just do a custom screen

I know kloogy was looking into something to make this possible... but how would this sound... get rid of the ashtray/stroage compartment... move the power plug to another spot... then drop the head unit down to where that stuff currently is... and then in the dead space throw in another lcd screen which would be hooked up to a dvd player and then wired into the aux of the headunit to use the car audio... only problem i see is a custom dash would need to be made..

does that sound good? who makes custom dashes? heh, it's just an idea... 2 screens would look pretty cool...

Its possible. My cuzin did it to his Acuras Navi and it works perfect all you need is a special connection which uses ur dvd player on the navi screen which is just a regular lcd screen nothing special about it.

Yes, I have confirmed its possible. All you need is a wiring diagram from Nissan, and a good shop can do it. I was quoted approx $1400 for the entire job with the DVD player.

$1400? That's a complete rip-off!!!

If you want to play DVDs in your 5th gen Maxima & you don't want to worry about thieves, then check this out:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=173877

2-Screens
10-Disc DVD changer
FM modulator & other stuff
Email me & I'll send you some awesome pics w/monitors on.

It's still for sale...

Don't even try to mess with the Navi. I hacked it open once... it's a nightmare to deal with! The other people that have hacked Acuras & 300Z have DVD-based Navis & have a cable between the DVD drive & the screen... ours are one-piece and CD-based units.

why would you buy aftermarket if the car already has factor NAV?
