oh... i c i c... so do u noe ne softer tires??i heard that my decrease the chances of having a lot of understeer because of its better ability to grip the road... makes scence.. not sure if its for sure.. ne wayz i also needa noe wut kan make a maxima accelerate much quicker.. lets say 1-2 second range... thanx

MotorTrend dec/99 Maxima GXE: Weight Distribution 62/38. Yes the car will be more inclined towards understeering at the limits, but you can get the tail to swing around by "lift-throttle." If you don't know what "life-throttle" is, its when you let off the gas pedal in a turn, that causes MORE weight to be transfered to the front, causing a "braking" action and making the rear end lighter, and the tail will come around. To much oversteer? Stab on the gas and it will understeer.

Oh, what I said WAS right AND what YOU said was right. Relatively speaking if you're steady state corning, the heavier weight on the wheels, the more grip it WILL produce, but the tires can only take a certain amount, and the tires with more weight will lose grip and oversteer or understeer. But you can counter over/understeer with brake application, let off the gas OR a stab on the gas because weight transfers to the front or rear of the car and the car will either be "neutral" or do the opposite of what it was doing earlier.

Stock, the car understeers pretty badly near the limit As do all front wheel drive cars). There are a number of driving tricks that can overcome some of this, they take practise (a snowy or wet parking lot is good). You can also get some improvement from running the front tires 4-5 psi higher pressure than the rears. The rear swaybars are very popular because they help the most.
