I noticed last night that the window lock button on my 2k2 is not lit. I don't remember if it used to be or not. Does anyone know, before I take it apart, if there is a bulb in there?

I am fairly sure that 2k1's do not light up...but will check again. Not sure what they did for 2k2.

Can't you tell if it is just painted or actually has the design that can be back lit?

I'm *pretty* sure that my 2K3 window lock button is backlit. I'll check it tonight when I get home. I don't think there are bulbs in there, but rather LEDs on a circuit board. I have a link at home to this guy who replaced all the LEDs with blue ones (VERY cool) and I think it has pics of it taken apart. Oh, I left my homework at home today too

What I think is goofy is that when you use the window lock, not even the driver can open the back windows.
On other cars with four doors I've been in it would always allow the driver to control all the windows and just prevent passengers (children typically) from using the window.

I guess I'm a little late...
..but it does not light up. Moreover, all the window buttons don't seem to light up when the lights are on, but rather when the engine is running. I don't know if the lights also have to be on or have to have been on at one point, but I definitely know that the engine has to be running in order for any of them to light.

Oh, here's the link to the LED swap. Shows the gizzards of the window switch!

In many japanese cars the window lock locks the windows for everyone. My dad has a 2000 Camry V6 and it works the same way. I only used the lock when i got my tint installed, so that I didn't act like a moron and muck up my tint.
