can somebody explain to me what purpose the exap box (small black box under the rear of the car on the driver side) is for? thanks

What does all this bump stand for that I see all over the place? Mostly in the for sale sections heh

 

The EVAP box collects vapor form the gas tank and circulates it back into the fuel system. I forget the exact details.

well i got the answer to the question about the mysterious black box (thanks to Jeff @ Maximum Tuning)

evap box contains charcoal which absorbs the gas fumes, and releases them at a certain rpm... pretty much a result of emission laws.. without it, you'll have a ses light, won't pass inspection, and may smell some mild gas fumes..
