Sheer Silver and Chrome Silver - same thing?

Just bought some touch-up paint from my dealer (guess what I'm having to touch up... ). Anyway, he gave me Chrome Silver, and said he double-checked that it's the right color. Sounds a little weird, since Sheer Silver is supposedly a brand-new color...? Anyone know if he's right, or did he goof?

Good question. When i bought my '03 in October from the dealership. On one of the paperworks it said the color of my car is chrome silver but on the window sticker it had said sheer silver. I also bought some had bought some touch-up paint. Color Code:KYO. Does KYO stand for sheer silver or chrome silver? Do they have any differences between them?

I think this is the same paint. Chrome Silver is what the factory calls it, while Sheer Silver is what it's being sold as because it sounds "better" (just like nobody sells "Blue" as blue, but rather use something like "Midnight Blue", or "Majestic Blue").

Just to be safe, try that touchup paint on a piece of paper or something, and see what the color is as compared to your Max.
