Me vs CL-S
On I-83 here in Baltimore, I saw this dark blue CL-S tailgating me, and trying to pass me the right lane. You guessed it right, third gear and full throttle. The guy tried to keep up, but never gained on me, was like 10 cars behind. After about 1/4 mile, I moved into the center lane and turned my hazards on. My cellphone rang so I slowed down to 55mph.
This was not one-on-one race from the stop, but the fact that $30K+ CL-S had some big trouble catching up with a cheap $20K GXe 5 spd put a smile on my face. As that Acurah boy drove by, he looked at me and boy you wanted to be there.
Just wanted to share the joy.

I got beat my a 6 spd cls that puts down 240whp and 213tq and only lost by 1 1/2-2 cars from 40-100. Is my 02 auto a freak or does these results sound about right. Y ans b pipe should make a little more power and I will be dynoing as soon as they go on. Matt

guys cmon it was not one on one race, I said Acura was following me, obviously I took off a bit earlier than he did. Do not know how hard he tried, but my only evidence is that he run right after me, switched two lanes, cut off some cars, and the speeds were above 80mph in 50mph zone

Whenenver an Acura CL or TL thread comes up involving a Max beating them, Russ will come in and argue the pointers of why the Acura's are faster and the Max's are slower. This will go back and forth amongst members, and its pretty funny at times when the flames usually go up, but the moderators sometimes have to step in and kill the thread because it gets out of hand.

not that i am calling BS.. but its hard to tell the difference between a CL-P and a CL-S from 10 cars a head.. or at night..
and as we all know.. its not hard to make a 2k1 look like a 2k2 ..so its just as easy to make a CL-P look like a CL-S..

he said the CL-S was TAILGATING him, then he dumped it in 3rd at full throttle, then he pulled 10 car lengths ahead of him....yeah and I did the same thing against a Boxster the other day...
The only way he really did it to a true 260bhp CL Type-S is if the Acura wasn't trying...otherwise it was probably an old 2.2CL....which is NOT a CL Type-S...all of the CL-S and TL-S engines put out 260bhp...

I have no illusions.
I know I can't put 10 car lengths on a CL-S or TL-S IF the dude's really racing me. And I have a 2K2 Max. Come to think of it, I'm not certain I can put 10 car lengths on a base CL/TL, though I can pull a few.

I don't know, but when I raced my friend's TL-S on the highway it wasn't even close. I put multiple cars on him. Was surprized muself, cause I thought especially on the highway TL-S would do better.
CL-S and TL-S are pretty close in performance right?
Anyways, I never raced CL-S, but I am pretty sure result will be the same.
