2 questions on my 2000 Max

Hey guys, I bought a 2000 max in Sept. with 16000 miles on it. I bought an extended warranty and the vehicle was certified through the dealership. My brakes are starting to squeak like crazy already. I have 20k miles on it and the brake fluid is really low and it seems like the brakes are worn already. My question is, shouldn't the pads have been checked since it is certified? I can imagine them going bad already! What should I do? I don't want to take it to Midas or some place because they will charge me just to look at them.
Also, my emergency brake light comes on all the time even though the brake is not on. What is this? Thanks for the help!

Brakes can squeel for two reasons, too much brake dust buildup or the brakes pads are close to going. Get the dealer to check it but even under the warranty they will not replace them for free since this is a normal wear and tear item.

On the ebrake light, get the dealer to check the cable, see if it is tight, if so, let them figure out what is tripping that light. Seems like a cable issue.
