but I wasn't flaming the post, it was a post asking what was better,
"2000 Maxima, or 2003 Mazda 6"....
I gave my opinion.
because I don't like cars THAT HAVE FORD ENGINES.

as you can see, i have some mental issues...
Saturday Night, Micheal Vick is tearing apart the Packers...IN GREENBAY...and I'm posting on Maxima.org...
Pretty much sums things up...
Nealoc187: You pretty much summed it up. When you're at that light and an SRT-4 is revving...its run what you brung. Nothing else matters as you stated. But like someone else said doing the "fastest" thing is like keeping up with the joneses. I think the car rocks and the JD Power ratings for the latest Neon equal that of Max last I checked. Buy what you like but the neon gets the nod in this instance IMHO. Same way some of us like to gun for the more expensive rides as we love our bang for the cheaper buck...gotta know that SRT-4's are gonna feel the same way. No one sticks to their own class exclusively by comparison.
silverkorn: Evolution? What can be said? It owns all at this point. Mitsu says 0-60 in less than 5 stock! I believe it. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop (namely Scooby STi). With all the Max craziness going on right now I may jump off the Nissan band wagon for a minute. Questionable HP...absolutley crappy CD player...and I cannot forget how aweful my Max was running over the summer on some of the hot days. That bogging down was unbelievable. I just got the car in May. My 3rd Max and 5 Nissan overall. I'm in the game for now because of ride comfort over distance, brand loyality (waning though), and quite frankly it's darn fun to drive when it runs strong.
But you better believe I'll be test driving and Evo and STi even though a supercharger may be the saving grace I need to stay in the camp.
*undecided*

This is coming from a hater of Neons, I really, really dislike them (as I do all domestic sport compacts), but that this car deserves respect is undeniable. I'm dreading the day I get revved on by one, because until I install the turbo kit this spring... it's all over for me unless it's being driven by a total moron.
All the comments about "its not in the same class as the Max, etc etc etc" are just avoiding the point: the SRT-4 is a faster car period. All the class and luxury goes out the window when you are seeing the other guys taillights. Sure you may have the nicer car, but it wasn't a nice car contest you were just involved in, it was a contest of speed, and you lost.

mmmmmmmmm.....xanax
good stuff
I suspect those SRT-4s submitted to the mags are ringers.
One magazine dynoed the car with more torque to the wheels, than the car is supposed to have stock at the engine!
A ringer if I ever saw one.
And dont say they intentionally would understate the power/toque in todays horsepower wars.

i watched car and driver today. and the srt-4 is as stripped
down as you can get on a new car. hand crank windows, and
no muffler. they also complained about the shifter. they also mentioned major tork steer. the neon is not in the max's class of car.
dodge is doing what nissan did 10 years ago. the sr20det engine is still the import engine to beat. and the turbo for that car is a lot
more reliable than those mitsu turbo's. ask those eclipse owners.
if i was in that stage of racing. i would buy a 91' to 94' 240 at about $3k then buy the engine. another $2k. install a t3/t4 turbo and boost controller $1k. and you will have a max killing, neon destroying, import murderer for roughly $7k. i had to count for labor.
