opinion on best mods
I'm looking for opinions from other Maxima owners on the best modifications - I'm more interested in performance than looks - but any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm probably not going to go all out - I have a 2000 GLE - I'm still a bit disappointed in the overall quality of the vehicle (fit and finish is not up to price range), however, if a few of the TSBs get solved and I decide to keep the vehicle I might consider some modifications as a way to keep me interested in the car.
I've read a lot about intake modifications and exhausts on this website. Do they do much?
In the future I can tell I will need new brakes - I've been suffering with the cheap brakes Nissan puts on the car - at least until I can no longer get the dealer to do repairs for free (3000 more miles to end of warranty).
Just looking for suggestions - you all are way more into your cars than I - but I do like to keep my vehicle in top condition and I'm pretty sensitive to changes in performance.

Right now my set up is...
Frankentake->Factory headers->WSP Y-pipe->Stock cat->WSP B-pipe->Stock muffler
It all sounds like stock and when you get on the gas, there is a slight hint of growl just from the intake itself.
My previous setup was...
Frankentake/Midpipe->Factory headers->WSP Y-pipe->Stock cat->WSP B-pipe->Stock muffler
The intake sound droned, whistled, hissed, and penetrated into the cabin to much in everyday driving so I removed the mid-pipe and the problem was cured. I did lose somem low-end TQ without it, but its worth the sacrifice IMHO. I might sell the mid-pipe, only had it on the car for 5 days.
Handling wise, a FSTB makes a world of difference. I also here that a RSB makes a difference also.

My $.02
If you include handling in performance then skip the RSB, FSTB and especially the RSTB. They have minimal impact for the $. Instead replace your springs and the improvement on handling is easily felt.
If your looking strictly for power than either NOS or a supercharger is the way to go.
