This is a question for everyone who has a shop service manual for their maxima:

In Volume-1 on page LC-16 there is a diagram of the radiator, at the bottom of the radiator the diagram shows two small hoses: ref# 6. The legend below describes them as "Oil cooler hoses (A/T models)"

Has anyone noticed them? what do they attach to? are they for the AT cooler?

Page LC-16 is the only reference to them, they aren't even in the table of contents, also it's too cold out for me to go look under the car so please help me figure this out.

That's the industry standard way of doing the A/T cooler.

so does this mean that the A/T maxima has a stock transmission cooler?

I can't say for sure, mine is a stick, but on the other hand I haven't seen an automatic car or truck for the last 35 years without one. Some sticks even came with the cooler in the radiator but not connected to anything.
