Update #2 on HID anti theft device....
Ok. We have a prototype in mind and we are going to build it in the next two weeks. Without giving away the design the device will completly enclose the plastic tabs that hold the HIDS on to the frame of the car. The material will be 10 to 14 gauge stainless steel. It will require aproximately 6-10 bolts to hold it together. You will need some level of mechanical ability to install this which may deter some. The bolts are from a specialty comapny that my fathers company uses. They are wicked. It would be such a pain in the *** to get this piece off of the HID for a theif.
We had to abandon the old saying of keep it simple stupid because that is what Nissian did and our headlights are disappearing in record numbers. We are also looking at another option in addition to what we have to secure the HIDs from the bottom. You would have to jack the car up to get in to steal the lights. More news in the coming days.
