I read an article in Motor Trend about the NISMO 350z and in the Article they talked about a 350z turbo coming out soon, and seeing that the engines in the max and 350 are almost identical, that turbo will fit a Max I would suspect. Anybody else heard anything about this? A turbo 2k2 Max would a formidable car, imagine horsepower would have to be close to 300 at the wheels.

 

Before you get ahead of yourself, just because the cars have the 'same' engine, you MUST also consider engine compartment room, drivetrain layout, etc.

 

exactly. the Z's already have several makers who supply FI, but it is the engine layout in the max that is making it tough.

 

Ha, the exhaust system is totaly different and so is the frame. The downpipes will be totaly differnt and the location of the turbo would be too. If you want a turbo for a 2002 theres all ready several out there

 

yes there are, and it's not that hard if you know what to do, unfortunately i prolly won't be doing my custom turbo because nissan is trying to screw me over $3000 for a new tranny and i'll let the car sit in the service bay before i pay to fix it and if it ever gets fixed the car is gone.

 

Jeez, a person makes an observation and now I feel like I am under attack.... its ok though, I understand now there are more differences between the Engines than originaly thought.

 

don't feel attacked, i'm sure no one meant it that way it's just similiar things to this come up all the time and people get short with their answers.

 

Anyone know how kevin made out with his Turbo on the 2K? I never remeber hearing much about it after he started attempting it.

 

300 at the wheels? It better a bit better than that. There are supercharged VQ30's which exceed 300 to the wheels.
