When you buy the pads most autoparts stores will have a hardware kit for the car too but you have to ask. The kit has new wear plates any springs and retainer clips you will need if the store doesn't have it the dealer will, it's not expensive. You will also need some grease for the caliper bolts, relube them when reassembling. And last but not least repacking the bearings with bearing grease. Oh and a can of brake cleaner to spray the rotors down when your done so there is no grease or oil on them.
This is how to do it the right way anything else is cutting corners...
Now if you want better preformance and have the extra cash then you may want to think about some new rotors for the front with better pads and some Goodridge stainless braided lines (all 4). If not plan on this for the future. The uncut rotors will eat the pads up quicker so you will not get 20k out of'em. The uncut rotors will also get very hot when seating the new pads so don't dog the car out right away and after any hard braking keep driving the car to cool them down.
At 44k you may need to look at your rears also.
I hope this helps. Good luck,
Adam
