Sylvania Silverstars installed- PICS!

After having a headlight blow on me, I put a set of new Silverstars in my car. I paid $40 and got a $10 rebate from "SUVConcepts" on ebay. The differences are subtle, but noticable. The back of the package says that these are about 4000 degrees K, while the "Cool Blue" series is only 3500 degrees K. "Xenarc Standard HID" are 4100 degrees K.

One cheap-o bulb- Toucan Eurolite (left), one Sylvania Silverstar

Two Sylvania Silverstars

Overall, I am satisfied.....especially since the blue reflection is gone when the lights are off.

Looks like they match your fogs pretty good.

The funny thing is that the fogs are Toucan Eurolites just like my old headlights. They didn't match at all.

Looks Nice

now get a bulb that matches those for your parking lights

Also, the main question is..does it improve visability? If so, by a lot?
I see members of car clubs on other boards going this route instead of PIAA now.

Don't even bring up the turn signal lights. NO ONE makes one that is not BLUE. This one is silver, so during the day, you don't see any blue.

Visibility........ Pulling in the garage, I can see that the new bulb is definitely brighter than the old bulb. MUCH brighter, actually. On the lit roads, though, I can't really tell. I think on UNLIT roads, it would make a world of difference..... We don't have too many of those in Phoenix, though.

I don't like that blue relection either but I only have it one place, the clear corners.

j/w..how far do you live from Mesa? I was just there in the summer and wow was it hot! I couldn't walk outside for more than 3-4 minutes.
When we got to death valley I was outside a long periods of time before returning to the car..weird

The Phoenix metro area is just a big clump of cities piled together. Mesa is about 20 minutes away.

You get somewhat used to the heat. I'll take our heat over snow, rain, or humidity any day of the week.

On roads the are lit up and on wet or very dark colored new black top, the Sylvania Silverstar light vanishes. Look at your lights on the road next to another car. I bet your Silverstars disappear.

These bulbs have great white clean light, but unfortunately to make the light so clean they no longer can produce the lumens of light needed to really see where your going.

I ran the Silverstars for about 2 weeks, on really dark back roads you can see them, but on a busy well lit highway, my car's headlights were not to be seen.

I switched back to the Sylvania Xtravisions and WOW, what da ya know, my lights are now visable on the road again. Not only that, but they over power cars next to me. Isn't that what were really after here?

Stop looking at your headlights and start looking at the road there supposed to light up. You'll see their performance is very weak. Wait till it rains at night, look at the road in front of you, you'll think your headlights are off.

Thanks. I think they were about $20. I got them from a local shop. Here is their website. They aren't listed, but they do carry them. This is the packaging that they came in.

You can also pick them up on ebay as well.... Probably much cheaper too.
