How do I take out the trim?

Does anyone know what I need to do to take the woodgrain trim out of my 2k Max? I need to know b/c I'm getting the SE trim from someone and need to give him the wood trim. Thanx

if it is the trim that came with the car originally...the only way to take it out is to remove the pieces that it is attached to

if it is aftermarket trim...you can try to heat it up with a hairdryer and then use something flat like a nail file to pull it up.....but it still may crack

and once you take it off...there really is no neat way of sticking it back on

either way...good luck, and be careful not to poke any of the dash while removing the old trim!

you need to take a flat head screwdriver, cover it with a paper towel, and gently pry the console piece off. there is a screw in the ashtray that you'll need to take out first. be careful around the sides of the shifter as that part is thin and thus weak. (i snapped the right side of it when i was taking mine out )
