A little help on choosing mods

I have done a little research on the type of mods i want for my 2003 maxima and here's what i found out:

1. Injen cold air intake (12 hp claimed by Injen, so i'm hoping for 5hp)
2. stillen y-pipe (10 - 20 hp claimed by stillen, so 10 hp i would be happy)
3. sway bars (stillen rear sway bar, and stillen rear upper strut tower brace)

what do you guys think as far as my choices? what else should i add without going into the engine, and oh yeah i was thinking about a jet chip, please let me know what you guys think of them or maybe a better choice (for any of the mods)??? any input would be awesome, thx guys!!!

Consensus is that a RSTB doesn't accomplish as much as a FSTB, and even a FSTB is not particularly noticeable during mild/moderate driving. So unless you drive hard most of the time (or auto-x in STS or a higher class) just the RSB should be enough.

There are lots of different manufactures of parts. If I were you I would shop around before paying Stillen prices.

It would be extremely hard for you to get 275 horses without going into the engine.

The most modded Naturally Aspirated (NA) maxima on this forum, which is emax95.. is running around 238-240 hp to the wheels with bolt on modifications

You can use nitrous or boost without going into the engine.

Injen

Do a search. I previously posted showing that the Injen actually resulted in less power. This was the subject of a debate. Decide for yourself.

When i say 275 i'm speaking of crank power, i realize that it's almost impossible to reach the 275 mark without going into the engine. what i'm saying is if i can get 20 horses out of bolt on mods from what i mentioned earlier, i would be highly satisfied. I want reliabity plus a lil bit extra performance. Anyone know any type of chip we can get for the max?? i looked into jetchip.com, there are two options 1. jetchip v force 2. ecu upgrade what do you guys think? and what's the main difference?

I am suprised I have not seen someone pop their head in and suggest Frankencar wi Apexi. I am not suggesting it as I have not yet purchased it, but I soon will.

You have a 2K3, which has very few mods available. There is no Y pipe available yet. The intake will net you 3-6 hp at the most. Start with a Frankencar, Place Racing, or Injen intake and go from there. I have heard good things about the Apexi filter through Frankencar.

Personally, I only wish I had a 3.5L engine. All I would do is springs, struts, wheels, FSTB, and intake.

I don't know man....a lot of people say that but end up modding anyway.

LordHowe:

I'd go with PR CAI or the Frankencar Intake.

Definitely get an rsb (addco's a whole lot cheaper btw)
and couple that with a fstb. Stillen's fstb looks best (IMO) than the
but they all work the same.

Besides what I listed, what else is available for performance? I didn't know that the Y pipe was available, so add that on.

Exhaust? UDP? Test pipe? Eh..... no thanks.
