New Maxima!!
Hi, i just bought a 2000 GXE. What are the main differences between the gxe and the se. Is there any difference engine wise? What would you guys recommend as far as cheapest mods. Thanks a lot and I'm happy i have joined the maxima world.

only difference really is a stiffer suspension. everything else is cosmetic (unless you count the wing/ wheels, etc).
in regards to first mod: y-pipe

There is a lot of information on the forums about the different mods you can put on your car. Just reading a few pages will help your quest.
As far as my recommendations:
suspension
FSTB ($14)
RSB ($115)
springs ($85 - $250)
performance
intake ($130 - $220)
ypipe ($150 - $450)
supercharger ($3300)
custom turbo ($3500+)
bling-bling
18" wheels ($1000+)
19" wheels ($1500+)
tint ($120 - $250)
springs ($85 - $250)
SE tail lights ($200)
AE head lights (?)
interior
???
(I haven't modified mine in any way and probably won't. I really like it the way it is.)
