TSB question

Hi guys,

I am very new to this forum, and I would like to say that it has been very informative. Anyway, I noticed that there is a TSB for my 2000 SE for the brakes. Back in November of 2001, I noticed the pulsating in my brakes, so I took the car in to have the rotors resurfaced. Of course this was before I knew about the TSB. Is there any chance of getting reimbursed by Nissan for this or do I just have to suck it up?

Thanks.

How many miles were on it at the time? Do you still have the paperwork? If so, you can certainly TRY to talk to the dealer and if that files TRY to talk to Nissan directly.

I emphasize TRY due to the length of time since the work was actually done and the mood the dealer or Nissan is in at the time you discuss this.

Bottom line is you will never get a dime unless you try.

Thanks for the reply.

True, it doesn't hurt to try, but I was wondering if anyone had tried this before with any luck.

FYI I had ~28K on the car at the time.

Just remember that a TSB is not the same thing as a recall. More than anything it shows the techs the proper way to repair the vehicle.

Nosy question, but how much did you pay? Was it just the fronts, and did the just resurface the rotors or replace them? Did they replace the pads? I am appealing rotor resurfacing ($120) to Nissan (just sent the letter last week).

Slight OT, but I had my rotors resurfaced at 15K (no new pads), but just today, for the 30K service, the dealer called and tells me that the rear pads are down to 5-10%, but when I asked about the fronts, they say these are at 50-60%. It makes no sence to me, so I told them to leave it alone.
