Dealer Tire Swap on New 03 SE??

I'm helping my mother purchase an 03 SE, and I told her under NO CIRCUMSTANCES was she to ACCEPT THE stock RE92's on her new vehicle!!

She lives in IOWA and there is no way those tires would do her any good in the snow. I told her to ask for a credit for the purchase of Pilot A/s's.

Has ANYONE had ANY luck getting their dealers to budge on this one??

BTW -- What are you paying for New Loaded TE 03 SE's with Auto-tragic??

When I say loaded, I mean loaded minus NAVI.

Thanks for your help 03'ers.

I would say you're barking up a dead tree on the tire credit, but Others have been getting 03's for around $26K, so anywhere around there would be a pretty good deal i'd imagine.

In any case, any 225/50/17 is bad for the winter. Take the money that you will have to spend for new tires (the dealer will charge you, even if they say they don't) and put it on winter rims and tires.

The RE92's are not THAT bad in the dry, in the wet it's another story.

you could buy some pilots and put them on yourself and sell the RE92s on EBay or something. They should fetch you some money since they are in practically new condition. It's really hard to find 225/50/17 tires, so I'm sure someone will pick them up.

They aren't gonna budge on the tires. When I bought mine 03 they said that for a cost they would put different ones on but it might be easier to get new ones yourself

He's right they arent going to budge, I just got my 03 and an 03 350 with the crappy Potenza's. I have taken the max in twice because on smooth highways I get a little steering wheel shake, they are a little better now but not like new tires should. Same problem with the 350 I have taken it in twice because of slight shake at 70 on up. Funny how they(service guy) all know the Potenza's are crap!
